First Place at the Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation (APCO) Awards 2020 (Kyocera)

At Ryrie Office Machines, we're always looking for ways to minimise our impact on the environment and have set high targets to work towards a more sustainable world. We're proud that our efforts (Kyocera) have once more been recognised in the Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation (APCO) Awards 2020, where Kyocera was announced as the winner in the Electronics category! This industry recognition demonstrates our commitment to reduce consumer packaging through our innovative packaging design and the use of recycled materials.

PKN also spoke to CEO Brooke Donnelly about the awards programme who noted that in what has been an extremely challenging year for the industry like the one just past, the achievements of this year's winners really stand out.

"The awards are a milestone for the industry and the perfect opportunity to look back at everything we have achieved compared to last year," she said.

"For the APCO team, we have released Our Packaging Future, the roadmap towards achieving the 2025 National Packaging Targets and the Monitoring Program for how we will measure our progress," Donnelly said.

This year APCO will unveil three new categories to celebrate projects that are helping Australia reach the 2025 National Packaging Targets. The new Our Packaging Future Awards will highlight best practice sustainable packaging education, improved collection and recycling systems, and end-market development.

Other categories to be announced include the five Outstanding Achievement Awards that recognise the highest performing organisations in Industry Leadership, Packaging Design for Recoverability and Sustainable Packaging Operations.

Also returning this year is the APCO Sustainability Champion Award, which recognises people that make a tangible difference in sustainable packaging

These awards will be announced today (18 November) during a virtual awards ceremony staring at 3pm AEST. APCO members can register here to attend.
